We are actively engaged in the communities we work in.

Our flagship initiative in this regard is Access to Healthcare – a donation programme in selected developing countries relating to three areas of healthcare – bowel, urinary or wound diseases.

We engage in dialogue with our neighbours and communities around our production sites and we provide sponsorships to in local communities.

Access to Healthcare

Access to Healthcare is Coloplast’s donation programme relating to three areas of healthcare – bowel, urinary or wound diseases. An independent Board is responsible for the assessment, prioritisation and approval of applications.

In some parts of the world, basic healthcare is still a privilege reserved for the few. Often, areas of intimacy and privacy are tabooed, making it difficult for many people to access qualified help and advice. The Access to Healthcare programme’s goal is to identify situations like these where we have the opportunity to make the biggest difference.

To meet such challenges, we will foster cooperation between the resources, infrastructure, local knowledge and cultural understanding required. In this way, individuals living with conditions requiring on-going care will make the most out of all the benefits that such a dedicated programme can bring to their local area.

For example, having access to a clinic offering qualified intimate healthcare support and advice will greatly improve the daily life of a person living with a stoma.

Community dialogue and stakeholder engagement

It is vital for us that we maintain a close dialogue with our neighbours about the impact our production has on the local community. When establishing or closing production facilities, we engage in dialogue to establish the local impact and make sure to get local feedback.

In Hungary, we have engaged in a systematic effort to map and consult local stakeholders. This gave Coloplast valuable insight into the community that we function in, enabling us to organise our business most appropriately and identify future issues.
